Arcturus is a large, single-flowered peony that opens in a velvety wine-red tone, one of the first significant advances in richly colored red peonies.

Description

Arcturus is a single; large size flower, opens clear, velvety wine red. It is one of the early Auten advances in red colored peony flowers. Very satisfying form and substance. Good plant habit, vigorous, produces a medium height bush. It remains a desirable variety that does well in the landscape.

Best Use
General garden and landscape use; perennial border; hybridizing; attracts pollinators and honey bees; deer resistant.

Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwatering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
