Description
First Arrival, is a large, semi-double flower opens in unique purple color which soon pales to lavender shades in the sun. The pigmentation is more saturated in the heart of the flower and alludes to emanating purple flairs from the base of the petals. Both brilliance and saturation are more pronounced in cool spring climate. Broad outer petals surround several rows of segments that grade narrower toward a center of yellow stamens and purple carpels creating a pleasing contrast of colors.
Altogether, a charming flower that is of a well-tailored form and good substance. The bush has an excellent plant habit, it is vigorous and quick to increase. It is a dependable bloomer with ample color on a dense, medium height bush within a few years of planting. The blooms are carried near a canopy of the dark green foliage imparting a trim and neat appearance. The leaves are deeply cut, and the shape is reminiscent of their tree peony ancestry. Stiff stems carry the flowers upright and the bush holds its shape well against inclement weather events. This variety is an excellent choice for the flower border.

Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwatering and waterlog conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
