Sweet Melody is a semi-double, Lactiflora peony. The large flower opens in rich baby ribbon pink.

Description

Sweet Melody is a semi-double, Lactiflora peony. The large flower opens in rich baby ribbon pink. The broad outer petals surround layers of segments that progressively decrease size toward the center, forming a swallow bowl. In center is a loose cluster of pale-yellow stamens intermixed with small petal segments. The flower is mildly fragrant.

The plant boasts a very satisfying plant habit, vigorous and good increase, growing a medium tall bush within four years of planting. The strong stems withstand bad weather events well; staking depends on landscape placing. Sweet Melody is a lovely peony worthy of an upfront spot in the flower bed and the mixed perennial border.

Best Use
General garden and landscape use; perennial border; deer resistant.

Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwatering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
