Big Moon is an improvement in herbaceous hybrids, bursting into magnificent full double bloom right at the thrilling cusp of early – early mid-season.

This Herbaceous Hybrid, flower features stamens and carpels mostly hidden by petals. Parentage information misplaced. Big Moon features an large flower per stem, up to eight inches diameter at maturity, petals color light yellow, average two-three carpels, palest yellowish green and hairy, stamens sparse, filaments pale greenish, staminodal disk is obscure. Large leaflets and medium height, robust stems make a bold plant for the landscape. Purple color permeates the emerging stems and persists until replaced by the rich green of the mature shoots. However, the summer plant condition benefits by being placed at sites which have good air circulation, being subject to leaf fungi in sheltered sites especially when high humidity prevails.

Novel variety; general garden and landscape use; perennial border; cut flower garden; mass plantings; deer resistant.

Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwatering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
