Description
Maestro is a semi-double and produces double flowers on well grown mature plants. The large flower opens dark red. The vivid color holds well as the bloom matures. Many rows of large petals, notched and wavy, loosely arranged, reveal a ring of bright yellow filaments and stamens. This peony has an informal form, yet an attractive flower that draws one’s eye from afar.
The plant habit is very satisfying, vigorous and quick increase, dependable bloomer with plenty of color on a stately, large bush. The wiry, tall stem is of bronze color, holds flower well above the foliage canopy but is spreading with rain in the open flower. For best results with light support in the viewed landscape. Maestro offers a splendid combination of favorable attributes, worthy of a spot in the perennial border and a pollinator garden.
