Description

Claudia is a single flower form, Herbaceous Hybrid peony. The flower opens bright light cherry red soon fading to clear pale salmon pink under the sun. Two layers of broad, cupped petals surround a cluster of yellow stamens and the pale carpels topped with pale pink stigma. The flower retains its slight cup shape.

The plant has a satisfactory plant habit, good vigor and increase, forming a decent clump within 4 to 6 years of planting. The bush is all with very erect stems. The stems are self-supporting; staking is not required. Claudia is perfect for the perennial border and the pollinator garden.

Fragrant; general garden and landscape use; attracts pollinators and honey bees; deer resistant.

Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to over-watering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
