Description
Sunny Girl is a full double on well grown mature plants, semi-double otherwise; large to very large, flower of bright butter yellow upon opening, the color clean throughout, soon paling to cream and to white in the sun. Large, fluted and ruffled segments, grade smaller inward, enclose a loose cluster of pollen-bearing stamens, in center a set of carpels that are fertile and set seed. Segments of fair substance, well furnished with petals, the flower is of attractive high build form.
Very satisfying plant habit, good vigor and increase, a dependable bloomer with copious color on a large, medium height bush. Strong, erect stems clothed abundantly in semi-glossy, medium green foliage. Bush spreads in bad weather, requires support for best results. It can be adopted to many uses but shines in a perennial border setting.
Best Use
Cut flower garden; general garden and landscape use; perennial border; attracts pollinators and honey bees; deer resistant.
Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwatering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
