Tango is an early-blooming hybrid rises tall with a striking orange-red flower. Two clean rows of petals surrund a cluster of yellow stamens.

Description

Tango is a single flower form, herbaceous hybrid peony. The flower opens vivid orange red with a reddish yellow center. The stamens are golden yellow, the filaments bright red, the carpels pale with rosy stigmas, the intense color combination imparts a blazing, fire like display. The flower is well-tailored and has good substance.

The plant has a satisfactory plant habit, vigorous and good increase, the plant produces a decent clump within four years of planting. The stiff stems carry the flower near the foliage. The bush keeps its form well against bad weather events. Staking typically is not required. Tango is a very color full addition to any mixed perennial border and the flower bed.

Novel variety; general garden and landscape use; hybridizing; attracts pollinators and honey bees; deer resistant.

Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to over-watering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
