Solange

$30.00

Solange unfolds as a lavish full double, opening in creamy blush softly veiled with warm salmon-pink tones. In cool spring weather or when opened indoors, the color deepens beautifully, while layers of petals — from broad outer guards to finer inner segments — create a rich, romantic bloom.

Description

Solange, a full double flower opens creamy blush, vailed in salmon pink shades. This delicate color is more pronounced in cool spring climate or on flowers of cut stems opened indoors. The bloom is thickly furnished with petals, the broad outer petals enclose many layers of segments that grade narrower inward. It forms a pleasing flower on most stems, some buds may not open completely. The fully opened flower has an excellent shape and heavy substance. It is a large, nearly ball shaped bloom.

The bush has a satisfying plant habit, it is quite vigorous and is of fair increase, growing a large clump after a few years of planting. The erect stem bares the flower and occasional side buds well above the foliage and aches with the heavy bloom. The flowered stems require support, especially if subjected to rain. The bush is generously furnished with deep green foliage. It is a fine heirloom peony, worthy of an accent point in the cut flower garden.
