Description

Kathy’s Touch is a semi-double on young plants, otherwise double flower on fully grown specimens. The large size flower opens in shades of medium pink. The pigments are most saturated in the depths of the flower and lighten outward to tips of the petals. The color is more pronounced in cool spring weather and soon fades to lighter pink shades. The shape of the flower is the classic two stage (flower-in-flower) anatomy of traditional lactiflora group cultivars.

The inner flower varies in fullness, leading to our designation of semi-double flower form. There is a thin ring of pollen-bearing stamens at the inner edge of the outer part and again at the center. It is a well-tailored, neat flower with pleasing shape and good substance.

The bush has a very satisfying plant habit, it is quite vigorous and a dependable bloomer. It produces ample color on a broad bush within a few years of planting. This bush is of medium height with flowers borne close enough to the foliage for a harmonious and well-proportioned presentation. The thick stems are erect and lend well for concealed support mechanics when needed against severe weather events. The stems are covered in glossy, deep green foliage and long enough for cutting. Kathy’s Touch is worthy of an accent point for the near border and is an excellent choice for the cut flower garden.
