Description
Judith Eileen, a fragrant bomb double, with a large flower that opens rich medium pink. Flower buds open easily, with the center building as the flower matures. Side buds lengthen the blooming season. Very fragrant, good substance, strong grower. Stems hold up well in flower on a medium height spreading bush. Mechanical support suggested when exposed to wind and inclement weather events. Somewhat similar to P. ‘Monsieur Jules Elie’ but opens a few days earlier. No pollen, but forms seeds. This peony is an excellent addition to any flower border, landscape and cut flower garden. It furnishes fine stems for the vase.
Best Use
Fragrant variety; general garden and landscape use; perennial border; deer resistant.
Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwatering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
