Description
Edna’s Wish, a fragrant, full double flower opens yellow and fades to pale lemon shade in the sun. The color is more intense and lasting in cool spring weather. Cut in bud and opened indoors, the color is more intense and persistent. The yellow base color is faintly veiled in blush pink which is more evident on the outer petals. The large flower is generously furnished with petals and is of exceptional substance and pleasing shape. Side buds extend the bloom season.
The bush has a satisfying plant habit, it is quite vigorous and is a dependable bloomer. Edna’s Wish produces ample color on a broad, tall bush after a few years of planting. The flowers are borne on long stems well above the foliage. The leaves are deep green and remain healthy throughout the growing season. The thick stems lean with the heavy flower and require mechanical support in the landscape. This magnificent peony is well suited for an upfront spot in the cut flower garden. Cut stems retain their quality in storage and have an excellent vase life, altogether a professional grade peony suitable for commercial purposes.
