Description
Christmas Velvet, a fragrant, bomb double, velvet red blooms keep tight form. This variety boasts excellent stem strength and carries heavy flowers above the canopy of medium green, semi-glossy foliage. This mostly self-supporting peony benefits from light support in case of inclement weather events. Altogether an excellent choice for the sunny border and a desirable but rarely offered cultivar.
Best Use
Fragrant variety; rare variety; general garden and landscape use; perennial border; deer resistant.
Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to over-watering and waterlogged conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
