Description

President Roosevelt is a fragrant, full double, Lactiflora peony. The flower opens red with color fading to rose red shades under the sun. The petals are edged and tips frosted, casting a silvery sheen at maturity. Broad, edged petals grade narrower toward center. A handsome, old-fashioned flower that is of good form and substance.

This variety has a satisfying plant habit, vigorous and is a fair grower. It is a dependable bloomer with ample color on a large, tall bush. Long, straight stems are well covered in medium green foliage which remains attractive for most of the growing season. A sprawling bush in rough weather, the stems to sag and requires mechanical support for the best results. President Roosevelt furnishes excellent stems for the vase and is a fabulous heirloom variety for the cut flower garden.
