$28.00

Topeka Garnet bursts open with large single blooms in rich, glowing garnet red. Its clean, durable color stays brilliantly intense, commanding attention from across the garden.

Description

Topeka Garnet is a single, large size flower opens in a rich, garnet red color. Durable pigment, clean color and brilliant throughout drawing the eye from afar. Two rows of broad, nicely rounded petals surround a smallish, tight cluster of yellow stamens centered by inconspicuous pale carpels with rose-red stigma. Both, the flower form and presentation, are quite good.

Many side buds extent the blooming season. Excellent plant habit, vigorous and good grower. A dependable bloomer with generous color on a medium height bush. Strong, long stem are well clothed in semi-glossy, bluish-green foliage. Bush bears flowers above the foliage canopy but retains good form against rough weather, therefore staking is not required. It is a delightful peony with excellent qualities for the perennial border and shows effective in mass plantings.
