Full double, very large flower opens in a rich cardinal red color. Large, broad outer petals grading narrower and longer inward, tightly packed into a nicely tailored flower of outstanding, high-profile form. The petals are thick and notably heavy, waxy substance. Last variety of this hybrid red tone to flower and always attracts the eye of late season guests who missed the others. Medium height, strong stems, but of moderate increase, resulting in a sparse bush while the plants are young. In the landscape, best to be screened by other plants in the first few years. Stems sag with opened flower and mechanical support is needed for the best results. Furnishes excellent stems for the vase and a great choice for the cut flower garden. Basic Growing Requirements
Full Sun. Water as needed, sensitive to overwatering and waterlog conditions. Soil pH 6.5-7. Fertile, well-draining soil.
