Single; medium size flower, opens deep dark red, petals nicely defined with good substance. Short stems densely clothed in distinctively narrow leaflets. The foliage is reminiscent of the fernleaf peony ancestry but is not quite as feathery. A vigorous plant, sometimes spreading by root sprouts under best growing conditions. Excellent plant habit, prolific bloom on a compact, semi-dwarf bush. It tolerates late spring freeze events. A reliable variety that does well in the landscape.
