Semi-double, double on well grown mature plants; large, flower opens dark red, durable color holds well as bloom mature. Many rows of large petals, notched and wavy, loosely arranged, reveal a ring of bright yellow filaments and stamens. A decidedly unfinished, informal form, yet an attractive flower that draws one's eye from afar. Very satisfying plant habit, vigorous and quick increase, dependable bloomer with plenty of color on a stately, large bush. Wiry, tall stem is of bronze red color, holds flower well above the foliage canopy, spreading with rain in the opened flower, best with light support in the viewed landscape. A peony with a splendid combination of favorable attributes, worthy of a spot in the perennial border and a living garden.
