Semi-double, double form on well grown mature plants; dark red, flowers hold their color well. Petals loosely arranged, yellow filaments and fertile stamens visible. Attractive contrast, draws one's eye from afar. A fine performer, tall, flowers held well above the bush, giving it a rather informal appearance. Long, bronze stems leaning with open flower, benefits from light support. A dependable variety that does well in the landscape.

Species cultivar, P. lactiflora. Parentage: unknown. Breeding possibilities are promising; plenty of pollen and carpel improvement prospects seem favorable.
