Description
Convoy opens deep red. The medium to large size, double flower is of good substance and form. Well petaled, the segments obscure some yellow stamens and carpels in center. The leaves are of grayish deep green color, the stems very sturdy and well clothed in foliage. The plant displays a good plant habit, vigorous, forming a sizable clump in four years after planting. It is a dependable bloomer with good color on a medium height bush. The stems are self-supporting, staking is not required when grown in full sun, and appropriate growing conditions. This cultivar stands out due to its attractive flowers, flower color, and the beautiful appearance of the foliage. It is an excellent addition to the sunny border. However, Convoy is susceptible to Botrytis and other fungal infestation.
