Fragrant, single; small, whimsical flower opens rose red, the color clean throughout. Two layers of cupped petals surround a bright yellow cluster of pollen-bearing stamens centered by small carpels with rose red stigmas. Gynoecium is of normal form, the flower fertile both ways, has pollen and sets seeds. Very satisfying plant habit, vigorous but slow to increase, a dependable bloomer with a generous amount of color on a compact, dwarf bush. Strong, short stem carries flower near the foliage canopy, the compact bush holds well against rough weather. It is well clothed in foliage, leaflets are quite narrow and long and of deep green color. A well-proportioned plant that is perfect for the near border and a rock garden setting.
