Japanese, large flower opens brilliant red. Nicely formed petals surround a cluster of yellow staminodes with excellent form and substance. The color is similar to the earlier flowering varieties, but quite unique among late season peonies. Good plant habit, vigorous, reliable bloomer makes a tall bush. Strong stems hold flowers well, nearly free standing, with support depending on placement in the landscape. Dark green foliage remains healthy for most of the growing season. An attractive variety that does well in a perennial border, fine stems for a vase or cutter.
