Best Landscaper® 'KimSue'
Orig.: (Laning/Hollingsw., 2019)
Group: Herbaceous Hybrid
Bloom period: Early
Bloom week: 2
Flower form: Semi-double

Height: Medium
USDA Zone: 3 to 7
Item number: 3122

Details:

The semi-double flower opens cream with mauve flares emanating from the base of the petals. The color is more pronounced in cool spring weather and soon fades to nearly white in the sun. The large flower consists of layered rows of guard petals, smaller inner petal segments are absent. The broad petals are slightly cupped and of nearly waxy substance, surround a dense cluster of yellow stamens. The carpals are pale green and tipped with dark red stigmas. The fluffy flower is of an overt, formal form and noteworthy substance. The bush has an excellent plant habit, it is vigorous and quick to increase. It is a dependable bloomer with ample color on a large clump within a few years of planting. The flowers are presented near the foliage imparting a neat and trim appearance. The self-supporting, stiff stems carry the flowers upright and the bush holds its shape well against inclement weather events. The bush is well covered in glossy, deep green foliage which holds its condition well into summer and seems to express a moderate resistance to peony mildew here in NW Missouri. This early flowering peony is well adapted to inclusion in a viewed landscape and an excellent choice for the perennial border.
