Japanese type; large flower, opens flashy neon purple, staminodes of the same color edged in vibrant gold. The color more pronounced in northern climates or cool spring. Two layers of broad guard petals surround a large center of staminodes, a neat, well-tailored flower of an intense, gaudy color. When in flower this peony is hard to miss, side buds extend the bloom season. Good habit, vigorous with moderate increase, reliable bloom with ample color on a sizable, medium height bush. Semi-glossy, dark green foliage is of good quality and stays attractive well into fall. Strong stem, self-supporting, holds flower above the foliage. A unique variety that draws the eye, well suited for the perennial border, yields fine stems for the vase.
