The Japanese flower, anemone on mature specimens, opens white with a yellow center. The form is suggestive of the classic Japanese Higo cultivars. A relatively small center of yellow staminodes is surrounded by broad, white guard petals. The center cluster is quite dense and the staminodes obscure the diminutive, pale-yellow carpels. Petals and staminodes are of heavy substance imparting a waxy texture. This medium size flower is nicely tailored and pleasing form. The bush is of exceptional plant habit, vigorous and fast to increase, producing a large clump within a few years of planting. The free flowering bush produces ample color and side buds prolong the bloom season. The stout, self-supporting stem bears the flower near the foliage giving the bush a trim and neat appearance. It keeps its shape remarkably well against inclement weather events and support is not required under normal growing conditions. Stems are covered in glossy deep dark green leaflets that are of heavy, leathery substance. The foliage remains healthy well into fall and is apparently quite resistant to fungal disease here in NW Missouri. This variety boasts many exemplary qualities and is an excellent choice for the perennial border.
