Gordon E. Simonson
Semi-double; large, flower opens hot fuchsia pink. Several layers of large, rounded petals surround a ring of yellow stamens, in center prominent, green carpels, stigmas deep pink. Excellent form, petals with good substance and intense pigmentation, the color dominates the presentation and draws the eye from a distance. Healthy foliage deeply cut, tree peony like, dark green. Vigorous and fast increasing, stout stems hold flowers above the canopy, will form a big bush. It retains a good appearance in Midwest summers, has a notably attractive combination of attributes including a mounding compact habit which holds up well against inclement weather events. A dazzling peony and a fine addition to a perennial border.
