Best Cut® 'Golden Dawn'
Originator: (Gumm, 1923)
Group: Lactiflora
Bloom period: Late
Bloom week: 6
Flower form: Anemone
Height: Tall
USDA Zone: 2 to 8
Item number: 0067

Details:

This anemone type flower may open bomb double on mature specimens. The center cluster rises above the saucer of broad, white guard petals. Staminode segments of the center open soft yellow with occasional white petalodes intermixed. The color is more pronounced in cool spring weather and soon fades to ivory, nearly white when petals drop. The medium size flower has a pleasing form, good substance, and mild fragrance. It is a dependable variety with a good plant habit. The increase of this vigorous plant is about average and grows a substantial, tall bush within a few years of planting. The long stems arch with the open flower, especially if subjected to rain and may need support against inclement weather. The foliage is glossy, deep green and remains healthy throughout the growing season well into the fall. This rare heirloom variety furnishes fine stems for the vase and is a good choice for the cut flower garden.
