Best Cut® 'Command Performance'
Origin.: (Hollingsworth, 1996)
Group: Herbaceous Hybrid
Bloom period: Midseason
Bloom week: 4 & 5
Flower form: Bomb
Height: Tall
USDA Zone: 3 to 7
Item number: 0994

Details:

Fragrant, bomb double flowers open in brilliant shades of cardinal red. It is generously furnished with petals, well-tailored and of excellent substance. The bud is massive, and both the intense color and immense size of the flower dominate the visual perception. Cut stems sheltered from the elements yield substantial flowers of exceptional quality. The petals do not drop even after the flower declines. It is a good bloomer with ample color on a tall, spreading bush. The long stem is thick but sags with the heavy flower and requires appropriate mechanical support. This variety was bred and selected for its superior cut flower qualities and furnishes fine stems for the vase. This professional grade peony is an appropriate choice for the cut flower garden and a well-regarded cutter for the florist industry.
