Best Landscaper® 'Ring of Fire'
Orig: (Hollingsworth, 2007)
Group: Herbaceous Hybrid
Bloom period: Midseason
Boom Week: 4
Flower form: Single
Height: Medium
USDA zone: 3 to 7
Item number: 1165

Single, on well grown plants nearly semi-double; large flower, opens fire engine red. Nicely formed, cupped petals enclose a ring of red filaments and bright yellow stamens, which in turn surround a center of red-tipped, sulfur yellow carpels. The color contrast suggests the blazing appearance of fire. Good plant habit, vigorous, ample amount of bloom on a medium height plant. Flowers set close to the canopy of ruffled medium green leaflets. Self-supporting strong stems ensure for a favorable presentation in the landscape. Intolerant to water stress and midsummer heat, plants go dormant early in NW Missouri.
