Single; large flower, opens intensely ruby red to violet. Large petals frame a small cluster of yellow stamen; good substance, attractive contrast of color. Flowers set close to the bush. Excellent plant habit, vigorous, makes a stately, medium height bush. It is a productive and reliable bloomer, side buds extend the bloom. Expanding shoots are deep purple; heavy leaflets are dark green at flowering. Outstanding landscape peony, foliage holds green through hot weather.
