BeeLoved® 'Thumbelina'
Origin: (Krekler/Klehm,1985)
Group: Herbaceous Hybrid
Bloom period: Early
Bloom week: 2
Flower form: Single
Height: Dwarf
USDA Zone: 3 to 7
Item number: 5213

Details:

Fragrant, single; small size flower, opens rose pink. The color quite clear at opening, soon fading to lighter pink shades and petal margins frosted. Two layers of petals surround a yellow cluster of pollen-bearing stamens. Long, pale pink filaments with yellow stamens arranged in a low laying ring, in center pale pink carpels, the gynoecium apparently normal and fertile. Good plant habit, quite vigorous but slow growing, a dependable bloomer with prolific color on a compact, dwarf bush. Strong, erect stems hold flower close to the foliage canopy, the bush is neatly mounded and holds well against inclement weather events. Compound foliage, leaflets elongate oval, quite narrow and tip acutely pointed, reminiscent of P. officials but in miniature. An adorable, tiny variety that does well in a rock garden setting and a living garden.
