Best Landscaper® 'Gena Marie'
Origin.: (Hollingsworth, 2019)
Group: Herbaceous Hybrid
Bloom period: Early Midseason
Bloom week: 3
Flower form: Double
Height: Medium

USDA Zone: 3 to 7
Item number: 3073

Details:

The fragrant, full double flower opens in shades of pink. The pigmentation is more saturated in the heart of the flower grading lighter outward in shades of light pink to blush. Both brilliance and saturation are more pronounced in cool spring climate. Broad outer petals surround many layers of large, elongated segments to the center, forming a buildup, high silhouette bloom. The large flower is generously furnished with petals, well-proportioned and of good substance. The plant is a strong grower in our NW Midwest climate and has a very satisfying plant habit. It is vigorous and dependable with ample color on a medium height bush. One flower per stem is presented a few inches above the foliage imparting a neat and well-proportioned appearance. Sturdy stems are erect and self-supporting. The bush is largely unaffected by stormy weather while in flower and does not require support under normal growing conditions. The bush is well-clad in medium green foliage. Leaflets remain green well into summer, apparently being somewhat resistant to leaf spot fungi and appear to be quite resistant to peony mildew here in NW Missouri. It has a notably attractive combination of qualities which makes it an excellent choice for the perennial border.
