Danny Boy (Hollingsworth 2010) Herbaceous Hybrid. Early to Early Midseason. A Best Landscaper and bold peony, it is large in all respects, the leaflets, flowers, and bush, all of it. Single.
Long petals of a light peachy pink impart a golden glow, each accented with an elongate cerise pink flare, the whole further accented by stigmas of sharp red and a glow of the same in the filaments. Seven to eight inch flowers centered by a three to four inch splash of golden stamens can be expected on a well-grown plant at maturity. Robust, reliable and vigorous, this is a very satisfactory peony for massing or specimen use in the landscape, wherever the size fits. Fertile, both seeds and pollen, presumed tetraploid.
